From 11th November to 21st December 2024, Grosvenor Square, Mayfair was transformed into a beautiful, illuminated memorial through the return of the Ever After Garden. Now a
cherished London winter tradition, the installation featured over 30,000 glowing white roses
each one dedicated to a lost loved one. The project was created by designer Anya Hindmarch and writer Camilla Morton in memory of their friend, Michael Howells, the garden supports The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, raising over £1.2 million since its inception.
Open daily and free to enter, the Ever After Garden offered a quiet space of reflection,
remembrance, and community during the festive season.
Given its location in a public park and its popularity with visitors, effective and sensitive
security was crucial to the event’s continued success.

Achievements / Challenges:
Operating in a public space: With Grosvenor Square remaining open to the public throughout the event, our teams had to balance visibility with discretion. The proximity to Hyde Park and surrounding nightlife
meant a steady flow of passersby, including some intoxicated or disruptive individuals.
Our overnight patrols regularly engaged with members of the public to deter anti-social
behaviour and ensure the peaceful nature of the installation was preserved.
Preventing vandalism and disruption: While the delicate fittings can be vulnerable, our proactive security presence ensured there
were no major incidents of vandalism during the course of the event. We implemented regular foot patrols and static guarding through the night hours, helping deter unwanted behaviour
and maintain the integrity of the site.
Build and break
From the initial delivery and layout of roses through to the final pack-down, our security
teams supported the site during out-of-hours periods. We provided asset protection,
safeguarded equipment and vehicles, and helped manage access for authorised personnel,
contributing to a smooth and secure project timeline.
Working on the Ever After Garden project was a privilege;
It’s rare to support an event that is not only visually beautiful, but also deeply meaningful to so many. Our teams found it both rewarding and memorable to be involved in something that brought peace and reflection to Londoners during the winter festive season.
We look forward to contributing to more winter-based projects and public installations across London, and continuing to provide reliable, respectful security support to initiatives that make a difference.
The Ever After Garden continues to be a moving and impactful feature of the winter calendar in central London. We are proud to have played our part in its safe delivery—supporting the organisers, protecting the installation, and helping ensure a respectful environment for all
who visited.
Our thanks to the Royal Parks, The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, and all partners involved.
We look forward to returning for future editions and to taking on more winter work in the
capital.
