Big BUCS Wednesday

On the 19th-20th March, we returned once again to our long standing partners at Loughborough Sport to provide steward and security coverage for the incredible BUCS Big Wednesday event. This involved collaborating with both Loughborough University, Sport and their external partners, British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS).

This 2 day event featured 57 semi and finals fixtures in a variety of sports over 13 venues across the Loughborough campus with University teams from across the UK competing against each other for their BUCS winning titles.

We provided 75 members of stewards and security, as well as our highly experienced managers and supervisors of each sports arena, to ensure the safety of both athletes and spectators. Throughout each day our team monitored ticketed entry points, road closures and provided crowd control and spectator support. We worked along side event managers and volunteers from BUCS to ensure that this complex set of fixtures were completed in a safe and enjoyable environment for all.

It is with great pleasure that we can announce we have renewed our contract working with Loughborough Sport and will continue to work with them and their external partners for the next 2 years on all things from standard weekly sports fixtures to special events throughout the year.

We look forward to continuing to provide Loughborough students with employment opportunities, valuable work experience and the chance to witness incredible acts of sportsmanship. Later this summer we will also be providing similar coverage on a much larger scale for the 2024 School Games Finals which will be held once again on the Loughborough University Campus.
