Boomtown Festival

Alliance Events was proud to support Boomtown Festival at Matterley Estate in Hampshire in August 2026, deploying 200 staff across our designated security and search operations.
With its distinctive themed areas, broad demographic and busy campsites, Boomtown brought a varied working environment for our teams. Our focus was on delivering professional security while remaining approachable, helpful and attentive to the people around us.
Our Role:
Our responsibilities included South Gate search support, Orchid Campervan site, fox farm and meadow campsites. The roles our team executed include searches at South Gate for people entering Skylark Campsite and Camp Orchid, alongside additional and enhanced search support. At Orchid Campervans, our team carried out vehicle searches, wristband checks and foot patrols across the campervan site throughout the weekend. We also provided patrols and access control within Fox Farm and Meadow campsites.
Across these areas, our colleagues balanced their security responsibilities with strong customer service, helping festivalgoers find their way and responding to concerns as they arose.
Preparing and supporting the team:
Before the event, our operations team prepared event-specific briefing information covering roles, site information, communication, customer service and welfare. Supervisors supported this with briefings on site, giving colleagues the opportunity to ask questions and understand their individual responsibilities.
The busy arrival periods coincided with hot summer weather, making staff welfare an important part of the operation. This was hugely supported by Christian Rose-Quirie, who went above and beyond during this event. When colleagues raised concerns about working in the heat, Christian listened and worked quickly to put additional support in place.
This included more frequent breaks, suncream, cold drinks, refillable water bottles and shaded, seated areas where staff could rest and cool down. These were practical steps to support the people carrying out the work throughout the festival.
Our values in action:
Christian’s response demonstrated Care with Purpose and a People-Centred approach: listening to colleagues, taking their concerns seriously and responding with practical changes.
This was also reflected by the contribution of our supervisors and frontline teams, who worked together to support one another while delivering their responsibilities across the site.
Looking ahead
Our experience at Boomtown reinforced the importance of planning for staff welfare alongside operational requirements. Drinking water, sun protection, suitable rest areas and clear communication are all considerations we can take into future event preparation.
A huge thank you to everyone in the Alliance team who contributed their time, care and hard work, and to the event colleagues we worked alongside throughout the festival.
